360 Destination Group - A Repeat Incentive Group’s Orange County Beachside Bash

For the welcome dinner, 360DG bought out three very different restaurants in the Pacific City complex, just steps from the ocean and walking distance from the Huntington Beach resort. Attendees picked the one they wanted to dine at, then all three were opened up to the whole 600-person group for dessert, cocktails, and live entertainment.

BLACK TIE BY THE SEA

An ocean motif is natural for a seaside corporate event; pulling off a beachside black-tie awards dinner is not. 360DG elevated the typically casual affair with four different ocean-themed looks to give the room dimension, employing elements like shimmering fabrics reminiscent of fish scales, a wave-like stage, and blue and purple uplighting.

A CASUAL SEND-OFF

We know no Huntington Beach program is complete without a laid-back beach party. The incentive group’s final night was the right moment for this one that included local food trucks, a craft beer trailer, and photo booth trailer. Guests could then put their toes in the sand thanks to a “shoe valet” leading to a set of fire pits and cabanas right on the famous beach.

To keep an obvious corporate event theme (like the beach at an Orange County event) from feeling tired, go abstract with the associations. Ex: Rather than putting shells and fish everywhere, we incorporated two-toned “mermaid fabric” and other design details.
