They all come together here in this beauty-packed peninsula. No wonder John Steinbeck and other creative types have gone on to immortalize the county in their books, art, and music for generations. And with 360DG as your Monterey DMC (destination management company), you can immortalize the destination in your next corporate event or program, too.
From the iconic cypress trees and spectacular ocean views to its rich Central Coast wines and delectable California cuisine, the Monterey Peninsula is ideal for corporate event attendees who want to lap up the beautiful views alongside luxury. Occupying one of the world’s most unforgettable stretches of coastline, Big Sur offers retreat seekers a real breath of fresh air in the form of numerous state parks as well as iconic landmarks like Bixby Bridge and the 80-foot McWay Falls. The wine mecca of Carmel Valley is punctuated by iconic vineyards, wineries, and tasting rooms. Lastly, it wouldn’t be a trip to California’s Central Coast without a visit to Carmel by the Sea, a storybook town populated by fairy-tale cottages, museums, and galleries.
Scenic Monterey County is one of the richest ecological regions along California’s Central Coast, ideal for groups who wish to experience wildlife up-close. Located at the ocean’s edge on historic Cannery Row, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is home to an A-to-Z of local marine life, from acorn barnacles and crown jellyfishes to penguins and sea otters. Year-round whale watching cruises depart from Monterey and Moss Landing and are led by experienced captains and naturalists. Whether by land, boat, kayak or saddle, you’re sure to encounter captivating creatures.
Named the capital of Alta, California, in 1775, Monterey County boasts a long history that can still be seen – and celebrated – in many of its leading cultural attractions today. Built in 1771 as the headquarters for Spain’s expanding California mission system, Carmel Mission is one of the most authentically restored Roman Catholic mission churches in California. Cannery Row may be now best known for its more than 25 restaurants, numerous shops, and luxury hotels, but the area – first made world-famous in John Steinbeck’s 1945 fictional best seller of the same name – dates back to the 1850s when it was a fishing empire for Chinese immigrant families. There’s also the high-profile downtown Monterey museum, Dali17, which isn’t just home to the country’s largest private collection of Salvador Dalí work, but it celebrates the visionary artist’s time spent living in Monterey (from 1941 to 1948).
