The Flores family laid claim to Tucson’s dining and hospitality landscape in 1922 with El Charro Café – the oldest Mexican restaurant in the country operated continuously by the same family. Their legacy continues today at venues such as the historic Stillwell House & Garden; Charro Vida, which finds inspiration in the heart-healthy Mediterranean diet; and Pub 1922, a throwback to the days just after Prohibition.

Now owned by the University of Arizona, the facility offers fascinating in-depth tours to visitors. The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum turns the concept of a typical museum on its ear, comprising a botanical garden, art gallery, natural history museum, and zoo.
